Message from our Director

Welcome to the North Adams Community Memorial Library web site!

A library can be the heart of the community and that is my vision for our library. A place to meet friends, work on projects, prepare homework and, keep in touch with distant friends and family.

In case you have not used our Internet lately, we now have Comcast Business and it is so much better than what we had before!! You can use our computers or bring your own device and connect through our provider.

Our Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 12:15. Bring your lunch and discuss the latest selection. The people in the book club choose what will be read. They have read a wide variety of books and authors. Sometimes they all read the same book, sometimes they read the same author, but different books.

We have Needle Arts on the 4th Tuesday night of the month. If you are working on a project that involves fibers, needles (of any kind), bring your project and come to the library. Work on your project, chat with others, maybe even learn something new!

Brand new is Homeschool Afternoons! On the third Wednesday of the month, from 2 to 5, we are hosting Homeschool Afternoons. We have had one meeting so far. We are trying to get a sense of what time works with most people, and what kind of support you are looking for from the group. For the October meeting we will have a speaker from Hillsdale College. Sonja Bindus will be here at 4 p.m. to teach you how to teach your child first steps in reading.

The library is still looking for donations of North Adams-Jerome school yearbooks. If you find that you are in possession of yearbooks that you no longer want, please consider donating them to the library. They will become part of our Local History collection. They will be for use only in the library. We want to preserve them for the future while making them available for the use of the community.

Which yearbooks do we need? It's easier to tell you what we have! We HAVE: 1955, 1956. 1974, 1976, 1977. 1979, 1980, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987. 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998. 2000, 2004, 2005, and 2007 thru 2017. Any other years that you would like to donate will be gladly accepted and added to the collection.

See you soon!
